My husband and I seperated when my daughter was 6 weeks old. After that he disappeared. I didn't even know if he lived in our state anymore. My daughter and I went on with our life, and although I couldn't get divorced because I couldn't find him. He never saw our daughter contacted me or paid anything in child support. He has now resurfaced again and I have filed for divorce. His attorney tells me he is not responsible for back child support because it's only from the date of filing the divorce petition. Is that really true?
