I sent a demand letter certified return receipt to the known business address of a person I am going to take to small claims court. Problem is that the business address (it is listed under two different corporations for same person) is a ups mailbox. So it looks like a UPS Store worker signed it. Do I need to hand deliver or is it possible to email the demand instead?
Does the person have consent to sign for it? If yes, then that's appropriate. Generally, at those kinds of mail services which is common, the people who work there do have consent to sign for the certified mail and to receive mail. I cannot attest as to whether the person will receive his mail.
If you can, hand delivery is a good idea.
Go to the Secretary of State website under the Business Portal section. Then look up the corporation AGENT OF SERVICE. Its not the mailbox place I would think. It is probably a company called CT Corporation but could be anyone or any other company that accepts service for the corporation.
