My ex had an investigation opened against them about hitting my child because of a report from a school nurse. It was apparently concluded last month. I found this out through my child. Police and social workers were involved. We have joint custody and my child is with me almost half the time. I was never notified by anyone that this was happening. Is this legal? What can I do?
You should be able to obtain a copy of the CPS report, and I agree with you that it is sort of strange that they didn’t contact you to get your side of the story. Depending on what is stated in the report, you may want to consider filing a motion to modify custody and placement. Talking with an experienced family lawyer in advance will help determine if you have a case.
