I will be resigning from my teaching job of over 15 years effective April 7th. I have notified my boss. I will be missing 28 instruction days and 1 professional development day. I signed a contract October 10, 2016 that states my salary is payable in 12 calendar months. Payment being made at the discretion of the DISTRICT, following the beginning date of the contract period as specified beginning July 1, 2016 and ending June 30, 2017 with the provision that the last installment of said salary shall not be payable until EMPLOYEES shall perform all duties of the assigned position for the full school term.
Am I entitled to part of the June and July salary? If so, what formula could be used to determine the amount owed? My base salary is $38,075
I'm contracted for 180 instructional days plus 5 days of Professional Development. Thank you.
all depends on the contract, policies procedures or your district. None of us lawyers work for the school district and therefore have no idea. best to consult a labor lawyer if you think something is wrong after reading the policy procedures, talking to HR. best of luck.
