I am considering quitting, but I wonder if that will hurt my severance package. For example, I would like to ask for 6 months of health insurance. Generally, in Illinois unless you have a contract that says otherwise, and employer does not have to give severance. You may want to discuss how to separate with a lawyer to help you work through the separation to try to achieve your goals.
