Secret recording is illegal in Massachusetts. However, this statute (see http://www.malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartIV/TitleI/Chapter272/Section99) is designed to handle sound recording. Just as you may take photos of a public location without obtaining permission of every occupant, you may *usually* take videos.
