I did a case lookup in small claims and noticed that the defendant did not file an answer by the answer date and the status of the "answer" indicates "DENIED" - not sure what this indicates.
I am sorry but your question is somewhat unclear-Was an Answer filed after the answer date? If the court computer file reflects what you have indicated, you should contact the clerk's office for clarification.
A denial is simply what it says... a denial of the allegations in the Complaint. If there is no prejudice to the parties, a court may allow a late Answer
An answer was filed, and the Defendant denied the claim. A LOT of small claims defendants do not send their answers to the Plaintiff. Call the clerks office and they will mail or FAX you a copy of the answer so you have it. A trial will be scheduled shortly by the court.
