Okay so im 18 , my girlfriend is 16, almost 17, and I got her pregnant and her parents wont let us see each other at all. Its pretty ridiculous. We've been together for a year and 3 months today. We were together before the pregnancy, during the pregnancy and we plan to raise the kid together. we agreed that once shes 18 shes going to come live with me. Her parents are SUPER strict and just want "financial support from me." Those are their words. But thats bullshit, its my kid and I want to be there.but they wont let me. Someone please help me . !!!!!
I'm so sorry that happened. Cutting to it, have you filed with the court for a custodial order (based on best interests of the child)?
As a licensed attorney in Wisconsin, I can help you.
You can file for a paternity action which will establish your legal rights to your child. This will include custody and placement. However, as the legal father, you also have the obligation to support your child. In terms of seeing your girlfriend, she is a minor and her parents still have the right to dictate her actions. But, they do not have the right to deny you placement with your child once paternity is established.
You should contact an attorney to assist you in this.
This can blow up on you for real. It is probably best you just lay back and let go until she is of age. They are less likely to press charges after that.
If paternity is established, then you could face charges.
I would be careful how you proceed.
