This case goes back 6+ years when my wife's H4 got out of status and she got under deportation and got retroactive approval (Nunc-Pro-Tunc) and this year in feb., Immigration Judge granted a relief and gave us a letter which mentioned we have to wait for 30 days to see if BIA has any issues against my wife's approval, After 30 days have passed, we took INFOPASS and went to Newark, NJ and followed the instructions and the lady there also scheduled the Fingerprinting for the same day, which was initially scheduled for 3/29. That was so nice of her to go ahead and offer to do that. We did the FP for my wife the same day.
The lady told us that we will receive my wife's GC in 2 weeks, its the 4th week. y'day, when I called USCIS, they told me it will take 6-9 months.
Anything we can do ?Reply on 4/18/2012. Thank you Mr. Ahmad, Mr. Fleischer & Mr. West for your replies. To my pleasant surprise, I received an email stating that USCIS has mailed my wife's GC. It was so relaxing after a long long struggle. Thank you again Mr. Ahmad, Mr. Fleischer & Mr. West for your replies. Have a wonderful time ahead. Regards. Thank you Mr. Ahmad, Mr. Fleischer & Mr. West for your replies. I will get back to you once I get her GC or after I take the INFOPASS. Best Regards. Hello Mr. Fleischer, Thank you for your reply. While I know how to make INFOPASS aapointment, what do I mention so that they will put a stamp on my wife's passport ? Is there any specific procedure or if I go there and ask them to do it, they will do it for us. To Add some more info: The online case status says that her case was sent to Intake Processing Center, I don't know what is that and what is the processing time frame they have for specific case.
Did you obtain a I-551 stamp in your passport? That is proof of your residence
You can likely make an infopass to do so

It should not take 6 - 9 months if the IJ granted relief. In my experience 2 - 3 months is more typical. I would continue to make InfoPass appointments. Calling USCIS is usually a waste of time.
