I got a speeding ticket and went to court. I took the 17 hours of community service to lower the price, now months later I don't have time to do it. I already did the traffic school, but the ticket is due tomorrow. Do I have to go back to court to tell them I don't want to do the community service anymore and I would rather pay the higher price?
Probably. If you have the money, stop by the traffic clerk office and see if you can just pay right there and then. If this is in Santa Clara you need to go to the Homestead Court across the street from Santa Clara University. The lines can be very long, so I suggest you be there right when it opens.
Yes, you can opt out- but will have to pay a fine. See court clerk
