8 month lease, we move out after 6 months. Our house is ready early to move back in after a house fire. We pay out the last two months of the lease terms, understandingly. However, if the landlord rents out the house during our extra two months we paid, are we entitled to any prorated refund at all?
If you terminate your lease early and the landlord re-rents you are due a refund for the rent that the landlord gets. However, the landlord gets to deduct costs he incurs in re-renting, such as running ads, cleaning, etc. Good luck!
