My grandmother and her sister Nellie each owned 50% of their fathers, who passed back in the 1990s, house. My grandmother lived in the house until she passed back in 2013. The deed has never been taken out of my great-grandfathers name. My grandmother passed unexpectedly and never had a will to tell who her half of the house went to. The question is if Nellie owns the whole house or if my grandmothers half went to her children.
Your grandmother;s half went to her heirs.
The only way it would have went to the sister if a deed was drawn up that stated exactly that.
I agree with attorney Glove and would add that it appears to have been inherited by your grandmother and Nellie and there was no deed. Given these facts grandmother's children now own 50%
