I was parking in a store parking lot today in a tight fit. I skimmed the back headlight of another car. The driver was not in it but saw it happen out the window of the store. He came out as I was going in to find the person I hit and he was angry and we argued. He walked away got in his truck and left. No info was given at all and he left before I did I went into the store did my shopping after the accident and then left. Their was no damage at all that I know of maybe not even a scratch. Can he make damage then try to find and report me even though he left first and the cameras will show he left first. I do not want to be charged with a hit and run, and their was no damage but he was still very upset.
People can do a lot of strange things. I would try to find some witnesses and I would document the facts in a written note. Good luck
My dad grew up in Mitchell and I have family in Letcher!! Sounds like you are in the clear, since the other guy drove off. If you see him again, apologize for not understanding his frustration and see if that smooths things over. The law does not require you to chase after someone when it might cause further trouble. GO School of Mines!
Based on the facts you described, it sounds like you made every effort to remedy the situation. It seems unlikely that it would result in a hit and run, but you should document the incident to the best of your ability in the event a claim is filed.
