My husband got sentenced 8 years 16months joint suspension for sales both cases his projected realese date is the year2020, if prop 57 kicks in for him will his realese change?
No. Proposition 57, insofar as it may apply to your husband, only allows him to earn extra custody credits to shorten his time before becoming eligible for parole. Right now, subject to approval, he can earn six months less time by earning a college degree in prison and/or earn a month's credit by attending a year of drug counseling or life skills classes. It will not "kick" him out of prison that much early.
Mr. Hill's response is spot on . It fully sneers your question.

It can affect his release date, if he takes affirmative action to avail himself of programs in custody. He should have a counselor in prison that can further advise him.
