I was arrested more than 9 months ago, and i was just notified that the case was dismissed due to not enough evidence.. I have paid my lawyer fees to appoint me in court, and lawyer didn't even notify me that case was dismissed. I am curious to see if the money i paid her is refundable. I know it sounds bad, but i hired lawyer for a reason. Lawyer never contacted me, and we went to court once to find out case details. Customer service was really (NON PROFESSIONAL), and i feel i just paid a lawyer to tell me not to worry, and the firm will contact me when the time is right. The firm didnt even do that.? Just really Dont know what to do.
You hired a lawyer and they got your case dismissed and now you want your money back? Didn't you hire the lawyer to get your case dismissed? (I'm not trying to sound sarcastic, just trying to understand why you are upset?) Didn't your lawyer do exactly what you hired them to do? I'm sure they advocated for you in court and convinced the DA to dismiss the case.

You can talk to your lawyer (or refer to your written contract, if any) about a partial refund. However, be aware that just because the lawyer was not talking with you and you did not make more than one court appearance does not mean that the lawyer was not working on your case. It is more than possible that the lawyer had discussions with the prosecutor and / or submitted a packet on your behalf, interviewed witnesses, etc.
Also, you will need to get your record expunged in the future. Perhaps you can talk with the lawyer about handling that matter.
