Our boss is cutting hrs so all employees have to take a 30 min break but if you work 6 then can they make you take a 30 min or after 6 -7 a 30 min
This sounds lawful. The employer can decide your hours, breaks, and determine your schedule. The employer can really do *almost* anything they want, barring illegal pay/discrimination. The must pay you for all hours worked and 1.5X your wage hours over 40 in a workweek - unless you are a salaried employee. They must pay you at least minimum wage. They must treat employees equally, regardless of age, race, gender, national origin, color, religion, disability, or if you have complained of illegal activity. Employers also are required to appropriately accommodate for disabilities and religious beliefs. If an employer is very small, some laws do not apply. Often an employer will do this during harsh financial periods to avoid laying people off, if they anticipate business will pick up. Best of luck and hope this is helpful.
