I am a Pennsylvania resident and I got locked up in New Jersey back in 2012. I never returned to court. On the way back home from work one day coming from Jersey we got pulled over and the cops ran my name and took me in for the warrant. I was bailed out the same night and was told to return to court. Now I couldn’t return to court this time because two days before the court date I found out I was pregnant in my tubes and had to have an emergency C-section. Where do I go from here?
I would suggest the question is not whether you can visit your boyfriend, but rather what do you need to do the address the warrant in NJ. Hire a NJ attorney and have them clear up the issue so this does not haunt you anymore.
Where do you go from here??? If there is a warrant for your arrest, following your next encounter with the police, you are likely to be taken to the local jail where you will wait many weeks until you are returned to NJ for a visit with the judge that issued the warrant. Alternatively, you can reach out to an experienced criminal defense attorney who routinely practices in the county where you were arrested in 2012 and begin the process of surrendering to the warrant. The choice is yours.
