My mom isnt around really and my dad is passed. Ive been living on my own since I was 15, and now Im 17 with my own apartment and working fulltime. I own a car, but I only have a learners permit that I just attained 2 months ago. My mom agreed to sign the emancipation papers, but I want to know if Ill be able to get my license right away if I get emancipated? Its better than getting in trouble for driving illegally all the time.
This is not a guardianship question. While Avvo does not have a specific category for "emancipation", this issue falls under the general heading of 'family law". I have changed the category of your post accordingly, so you can get answers from lawyers who work in this area of law.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not. What determines Avvo Rating?Experience & background
