I am being blackmailed with paying the abortion fee (950) of a 16 year old or they are going to press charges on me. I am 19 years old and she lied about her age also her father is threatening my life as well as blackmailing me. what steps should I take or what should I do?
Consult with a criminal defense attorney immediately. Yesterday if you can find someone. Here is the thing, you are going to get charged at some point. If they are threatening you with charges now, they have already said it to someone else. Dont wait until you are sitting in jail wondering what happened to get an attorney. It sounds like you may have a defense and you need someone to advocate for you.
Best to get a criminal lawyer on deck, as you'll likely get charged regardless.
There are a couple of issues here. The father's threats to harm you, as well as his attempt to extort money from you, are crimes. Of course, if you report the matter to the police claiming to be a victim of the father's crimes, you put yourself at risk for prosecution for your role in the alleged physical relationship with the 16 year old girl. If believed by the jury, the young lady's word is enough. However, if there is a child in the womb, a simple blood test, followed by a DNA test, can verify whether or not you are the father and seal the deal. Remember also, payment of the abortion fee does not guarantee that the family will not report your offense to the police. At the end of the day, there is one overriding piece of advice that you should take away from this. If contacted by the police, respectfully refuse to say anything about this until AFTER speaking with an experienced criminal defense attorney. Secondly, say no more on this or any other public web site. Finally, say nothing to your friends. Instead, speak privately to your family to enlist their support. Then you need to hire an experienced criminal defense attorney to prepare for the call from the police that is sure to follow. Good luck.
I'm not clear on the facts. Was she 16 when you had intercourse? You were 19? Or was she 15? The ages you're describing is not statutory sexual assault. Worst case is it's corruption of minors. In any case, I would be proactive and contact the police about their extortionist activity. That's worse. The police may want to use you to get evidence against them.
Finally, don't use social media to discuss anymore.

You could end up being charged with corruption of minors. I would make no statements to anyone, especially the police and I would obtain a lawyer to speak on your behalf. Paying the abortion fee may not prevent the parents from filing charges, however, you may consider doing so as a way to get out of this but only do so upon advice of counsel.
I think you and I have talked in a consultation. I also think you have a better understanding of the issue and the ramifications for yourself,if charges are brought. Good luck. Hope this ALL works out for you
