Me and my minor who us a victim of sexual assault have been subpoenaed by Prosecutor to come to court and we have contacted them a few times to say we will not testify. Also the minor has a letter from Doctor for her not to be interviewd for her mental wellbeing...can the minor get in trouble if she doesnt show up to court?
Yes, both you and the minor can be cited for contempt. Show up in court, but hire an attorney to represent each of you or speak to a victim rights attorney through the DA's office. The judge can order you and the minor to testify and then if you refuse, he can cite you for contempt unless there is a proper Fifth Amendment claim of privilege.
