I was recently charged for battery in a case that has now been dismissed...as of today due to proving that the altercation was self defense. I am applying for a job and I would like for them to see that the citation has been dismissed when they do the background check. I have the option to wait a few days before signing the consent for a check. My question is how long does it typically take from the time I leave the court room for the update to post on my record.
I also know that all arrest post on your record no matter if the charge is dismissed or not. Well I only received a misdemeanor battery citation with no jail time. I am wondering if citations are guaranteed to show up as well or does that only apply to arrest?
Thanks in advance
Quartz can do that sometimes within an hour or two. But every court is different. Please check with your lawyer who is in the best position to know
How quickly information is updated in the court system varies widely. You may also think about having your records sealed so you will not have to worry about the charges in the future.
