If a case was dismissed with or without prejudice in criminal court, can the defendant still be pursued in civil court?

As they say on TV "But Wait! There's more!" If Def. entered a plea of guilty and didn't know to qualify it as an Alford Plea, there's an excellent chance you may be able to prove the liability part of your case by his in-court admission of guilt. That's a lot easier to do with a lawyer but it's useful.

Yes, a civil action can proceed even if criminal action is dismissed.
