If a car u paid for is put in someone else's name can they take it from you?

I would tend to agree with the other attorney - the title establishes ownership; So although you may have paid the money, when you titled it in someone other than your name, you essentially gave up your ownership of the car.
You should speak to an Indiana attorney, and I am not admitted in Indiana.
However, if the title of a vehicle is in someone's name, typically that is the owner of the vehicle.
So it appears that your Dad does not need to "take it", i.e. he already owns it.
