I have sent my papers to my attorney. My employer/attorney is in Connecticut, but I live and work in Illinois. How do I know which lockbox (Phoenix or Dallas) my I485 application will be filed? Will it go with employers location or applicants location ? Thanks!
Read the instructions for Form I-485. If the nature of your employment permits you to live and work in another state from that of the employer the application should be filed on the basis of your residence.
If your I-485 Application is being filed with the USCIS based on a pending or approved I-140 Petition, it should be filed based in your residential address in Illinois. Hence, based on the current USCIS instructions, it should be filed at the USCIS lockbox address in Phoenix, Arizona.
