I am a member of Group Health.I had a very serious, very painful leg problem that got to where I knew I needed medical help.I went into G.H. Urgent Care seeking help.I did not know what was wrong, but assumed it was probably my lower back causing the extreme swelling and pain in my lower leg.I was kept there for 3 hours,I was misdiagnosed-but that's not really the term. The doctor did not recognize what was plainly either a blood clot,or Cellulitis. The pain was excruciating,as I tried to tell her,and the visible swelling was very evident-for some reason she either ignored the very evident,or is not trained to recognize the signs of a blood clot. I picked up the record of that visit, and her notes, and it's clear why she did this-and she is very wrong. I know it's not malpractice-neglect?
The cost of a malpractice suit would exceed the recovery without a serious injury caused by a misdiagnosis. Best bet is to see another doctor asap.
you should go to another doctor and get the medical care you need and get a diagnosis on your problem. If the delay in treatment caused things to get worse, you should consult with a personal injury attorney in your area.
Sorry to hear about misdiagnoses. But it doesn't sound like you have suffered serious medical problems as a result (Based on your post). If there are long lasting side effects due to the misdiagnoses, you should contact lawyer soon. But if the problem has been treated and resolved, then it is unlikely that a lawyer will take your case.
