If you were terminated because you reported supervisors stealing, you should contact an attorney to discuss your rights. Although most employees are employed at-will, there are some public policy exceptions that may apply to your situation. The Mississippi Supreme Court has created some public policy exceptions to this longstanding rule (that the employer can terminate an employee at will). Generally, an employee may bring a cause of action based on wrongful termination under the following two circumstances: “(1) an employee refuses to participate in an illegal act; or 2) an employee is discharged for reporting illegal acts of his employer to the employer or anyone else.” Good luck.
