against my better judgment and to please my fiance we got a kirby home care system from the sales man who came to the door.. they went through the whole song and dance to show off the machine and continuously through the whole sales pitch continued to bring up this LIFETIME warranty and i quote the man " you will never have to buy another vacuum ever if this one breaks Kirby will fix it for free that's the lifetime guarantee" when his sales manager came in i asked about the lifetime warranty and she said the same thing, along with something to the lines of "with the price your paying for this it has to have a lifetime warranty" that's not exactly what was said but i don't remember that one..
so a week goes by and the machine they used in the demo/ the same machine they sold to us is now not working. so i call for the warranty and i am surprised with the 3 year warranty instead of what i was told probably 30 times in the sales pitch a "LIFETIME WARRANTY"
Now the company that sold me the machine is a licensed distributor for Kirby. i need to know what my options are for taking legal action over this. I would never have bout one of these if i knew it was only a 3 year warranty!
You could sue for fraud or STPA but There is probably not enough $$ in controversy to make hiring a lawyer cost-effective. Read your warranty and follow the steps for making a claim.
