My landlord has sent me a signed leased by the landlord herself. We want to stay but after 3 yrs living here she is asking for paystubs which I didn’t even provide when I initially moved in. My problem is I have been out on disability for 5 months and have no recent paystubs and therefore cannot provide one, Will this void lease?? We can still afford to pay I just don’t have documentation to prove it right now. Being that she already sent signed lease can we sign and not worry about that proof??
I changed your practice area to landlord & tenant rather than divorce and separation so this question gets in front of the right attorneys. Best of luck.

In New Jersey, tenancies are for life as long as the rent is paid on time and all rules are followed. If the landlord has already signed the new lease and you sign it and return it to her in a timely manner, there should be no basis for her attempting to terminate the tenancy.
