I was in an accident today and I don't believe that I was at fault, although the insurance company made it seem otherwise. I am planning on filling out the sr1 form if I am required to submit but i was wondering how this incident will effect me in the long run? The cops were never called and insurance information was all that was exchanged. Is it possible to receive a point on my license if I never received a citation or anything from the police? Will filling out sr1 and then being found at fault by insurance notify the dmv to give me a point?
You may need to prove that you were not at fault. We would need to know some more information before we could advise you. Feel free to call an attorney in your area, many are open to offering free consultations.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not. What determines Avvo Rating?Experience & background
