I was pulled over for an "illegal" u turn. How can I beat this ticket and what are my options?

You are able to negotiate a plea. However, reading all the facts you have written I would say you may have a viable defense. You were not given notice "no sign". An attorney will be best to argue the photos you have. Good luck.
You could negotiate with the DA's Office in Westchester County for a reduction. Alternatively, you can research the law associated with the "u-turn" ticket--it could be New York Vehicle and Traffic Law or a Larchmont municipal law--and fight the stop and ticket based on that law. While you're entitled to handle the ticket yourself, I suggest that you hire an experienced traffic ticket attorney to handle it. He or she will likely be able to assess each of the options before you and recommend the best course of action.
You should hire an attorney who handles traffic matters - there are ways to fight the ticket but it is best done by a professional.
