I live in mass and I am registered there. I work in CT. I have to register every 90 days by signing a form that is sent to me. I was a few days late getting it back to CT, I have 10 days to send it back. I received a violation notice. It said even though I sent it in the violation does not go away. It also says I could get a warrant for my arrest. Will this happen. I am not on parole or probation. Please answer my question.
You probably won't suffer a consequence the first time. If it happens again and especially multiple times, you will very likely get in trouble for this type of violation.
I think you should consult with an attorney about the meaning of this violation. A warrant for your arrest can only issue if a criminal charge is brought against you - has that occurred? Did you receive notice of a hearing with this “violation”? You need to understand your rights and the potential consequences.
