I was interviewed for my I751 application to remove conditions based on marriage in February 2017. I filed I 751 in April 2015 with waiver 1. Marriage ended in divorce 2. Abuse. During the interview I just went with the marriage ended in divorce waiver. The immigration officer was satisfied with the genuineness of my marriage. I have a son with my ex. At the end of the interview, the immigration officer gave me a letter saying that my case is held for review. He informally told me that I should expect my permanent green card within two weeks. I am still waiting for the GC.
I called the USCIS office and they told me that if I have any questions regarding the case I should contact the Vermont Service Center.
What should I do? How long should I wait?
I suggest calling USCIS & requesting to speak to an Officer. Another alternative is to schedule an Infopas appointment to speak with someone at your local Field/District Office.
The officer shouldn't have made that informal comment ... they have no control over the final decision on a 751 waiver.
Be patient, it can take many, many, many more months for the supervisor to decide.
