I was discharged from a employer I filed a complaint with EEOC they said I could go ahead with a suite. But the I'm understand the process . The case I was asked did I a felony and I answered truthfully yes which was over 17years old but I was discharged because of a case I had forgot about when I was married in 1999 that was suspended and according to the company contract it was over 7yrs old it shouldn't have matter but they me go because they said I didn't disclose it and I explained to them it was the first time it had every showed up the EEOC said I had a case but their paperwork is confusing
It sounds like you might have a claim for retaliation under federal and state law. But it depends if they discharged you after or before you filed a complaint with the EEOC. I would recommend you contact a local employment attorney and go over the facts of your case in more detail.
Best of luck to you.
