I was caught shoplifting food for my family. I made a very stupid decision at the time. I'm not sure what my total was I was never given a receipt or told any amount . I know it shouldn't be over $50.00. I have never been and any kind of trouble before. I would really like to get this off my record. I truly learned my lesson. The guy who detained me at the store kept trying to make me say that I was caught someone else I'm not sure why he was doing that. I don't have alot of money to pay for a lawyer so I'm not sure what to do. Thank you so much

Were the cops called and were you arrested or given a notice to appear? We kinda need to know these things. Anyone charged with any crime needs a criminal defense attorney, and you can find one in your area by using the find a lawyer tab above.
