Will this be on record? Depends. If the DA files a charge, then there would be a record on your background. You may receive a notice to appear by mail. You might want to consider consulting with a local criminal attorney for advice. Good luck.
Underage drinking in ri is considered a violation. Sort of like a traffic ticket but u go to district court. One usually gets fined 150 plus 3 in court costs. Once it is paid which u should do the day of ur arraignment. U can file a motion to expunge and everythn will b erased. If police had to take u to hospital and this has happened to u more once. U should consider voluntarily getting urself some help. Ur parents will prob go easier on u as well. I am assuming ur a college student. If u r u may face some sought of sanction from ur college
It all depends on if you get convicted. A charge of drunk driving charge can be expunged off your record, ASAP, if you have the charges dismissed. Otherwise, it will be on your record for 5 years after your probation runs out. A good criminal defense lawyer may be able to have your DUI charges dismissed or reduced to a lessor charge. If you are under the age of 18, you may be able to plea to the charge of driving while impaired. This DWI charge is just a violation unlike a DUI charge, so you can have it expunged right away. You need to hire a very good DUI lawyer now.
