I was assaulted while at a Karate school by the grandfather of my children who didn't want me there. I was there to watch my children when he become verbally abusive. The karate instructor asked us to step outside, including myself (victim) and when I was in the doorway he punched me in the chest. He continued to verbally assault me, until I retreated inside where the owner asked me to go back outside. I called the police. We have the entire assault on video. Can I sue the karate school and if so, who here wants to help?
Based on those facts, it sounds like you have a claim against the person who punched you. The karate school has minimal liability, if any.
If you are seriously injured, use the Avvo find a lawyer tool and set up a free consult or two. Lawyers are not allowed to actively solicit business directly.
If your injuries are minimal, small claims court.
