I had driven my truck from in front of my house to the alley way to unload some trash from in the bed , as I got out of the truck and was walking to the rear of the truck I was uproached by a police officer and arrested for driving on a suspendedicated license . There was no reason for being stopped , I was actually already stopped and had exited the vehicle before the cop had even turned down the alley way. He never mentioned anything of a traffic violation just that I was being arrested for driving on a suspended license. I was booked into jail and my vehicle was searched and siezed . Can they do this legally ?
If you stopped on your own there is no stop issue. It only becomes an issue if you are compelled to stop by the officer.
An alleyway is a public road. If the officer has suspicion that you are driving on a suspended he or she can approach you and investigate.
Driving on a suspended license is a crime and is an independent basis for a stop.

The alley is a part of the public Road where you need to have a driver's license to drive. If you stop voluntarily then the officer can investigate. You need an attorney
Sounds to me like he ran your plates while you driving, that is also legitimate, they don’t need a reason to run plates even if they don’t suspect something specific to you.
