Trying to protect my florida home which I own free and clear in my name only purchased by income from medical settlement. Husband has been in and out of jail in co springs after totaling his truck. Presently unable to leave the state. Please advise on expected costs and chances of keeping my home.
Unfortunately, there is more to a divorce than focusing on keeping a home in Florida. Costs depend on the attorney you retain, the degree of conflict, the need for court hearings to resolve issues as compared with negotiating settlements. Your next step is to contact a well respected family law attorney in Colorado Springs, sit down with him/her and develop a plan to protect your assets and cash flow. I wish you the best.
You can try to talk to a free attorney at Pikes Peak Legal Services in Colorado Springs.

I agree with the other contributors. Cost is largely dependent on the amount of work that needs to be done because most attorneys charge by the hour and require a retainer. You may want to contact Colorado Legal Services to see if you possible qualify for representation through them. Either which way I do think that you are going to need representation.
