I have never heard of such a thing in this context. Typically, when a broker talks about an approval letter they are referring to a letter from a letter that says a proposed buyer has be pre-approved or pre-qualified for a mortgage. You need to state more facts and details to answer this question, or bring the listing agreement to an attorney to look it over.

Did the realtor say that, or perhaps you need to get a pre-approval letter from your lender?

Maybe he means that when an offer is made, the acceptance would be sent to your lawyer? I am as puzzled by this as the others. I would suggest you call the realtor and ask what he/she meant.
