I sent this paperwork via first class mail, sent on 6/16/2015 which should have arrived the next day (6/17/2015). To the clerks office of clark county court (3rd floor). I called as of today 6/25/2015 and they said they don't have anything in the system and alot of mail just came in today (which is bogus because I sent it priority 1 day shipping $25). To call back tomorrow... is this normal business ??? I am super upset as my case trial is set for next month and I have to put in paperwork to extend all discovery and trial date to find counsel as my lawyer recently withdrawed from my case last month.
Unfortunately, yes, this is normal. The courts are overloaded with cases each day, and the amount of paperwork they receive can take considerable time to go through. I suggest you visit the court in person if you are concerned that the paperwork was lost or will not be filed on time.

You will likely want to visit the courthouse and the self help center for more information. When you submit an application to the court clerk, filing it in person is your best bet. Then you should take a copy of the filed-application and enclose a proposed copy of the order granting the application to the district court through its dropbox. You should be aware that the deadlines for you to participate in your case are continuing, and you will be held accountable for each of those deadlines. At a minimum, you should register for the electronic service system so that you can receive the notices related to the filings in your case.

Track the package and print out the paper that confirms delivery. Bring this paper to the court in person and be seen. Ensure they update your file there and then. It is not uncommon for paperwork to get lost or for an assistant to forget to update the system immediately. Once the change is made- call the following day and ensure it went through. You have to keep following up with courts. They simply have too many cases and not enough time.
