a trap set up, With 2 cops. They cited everyone who did not completely stop wait several seconds and proceed. this is in a quiet neighborhood, the cross section is very open and visible. The ticket is 225.00 , can I fight this ?
Of course you can fight it. Will you win? That is another question. There is nothing wrong with cops setting up a trap. At the very least you might be able to negotiate a better deal then just pleading guilty and paying the fine. Consult with a local traffic attorney and see if anything can be done.
You can fight anything, but keep in mind it's your word against the officer's here. If you're successful, your ticket could be dismissed. If not, you are looking at possible sentences of up to a year in jail and $1000 in fines for a misdemeanor. I would consult an attorney to determine your best course of action.
You can fight it, but based on what you said here you will not win. If you didn't stop then you didn't stop. Your best bet is go to court, and ask the prosecutor to reduce your speed to a non-reporting violation.
