I received a letter to appear for an arrangement 2/1/19 because there are charges pending against me for welfare fraud. 10980 (c)(2) and pc 487(a). What am i looking at here. I've never been in anything like this. I have a case that I am currently doing community service for that happened in 2015 for a misdemeanor for the intent to shoplift. I am defendant 3 of 3. I am on summary probation which is due to be revoked upon completion of the community service by 4/5/19. Im so confused because i am unsure what is going on. Im a single mother of 3 and I am scared.
Wait a minute... the letter said you had to appear on 2/1/19? That was a week and a half ago. If you didn't show up, the judge will probably issue a warrant for your arrest.
If you haven't appeared and you can't afford to hire a lawyer, call the court clerk tomorrow and ask to be placed on calendar. You can ask the judge to appoint a lawyer from the public defender's office.
