I put "laid off-lack of work" on my unemployment insurance claim? and i received 3 paid from UI already. But this week they scheduled me for phone interview due to my previous Employer said i was fired! what can i say or not say on the upcoming interview?
Well, were you laid off or fired? Did you misrepresent the circumstances of leaving your last employment or is your employer trying to prevent you from receiving benefits?
Put plainly, you tell the truth. Hopefully your statement that you were laid off was truthful. If you were terminated (fired) you might still qualify for unemployment insurance benefits as long as you were not terminated for what would be considered misconduct. Misconduct will disqualify you from benefits.
Good luck to you.
