i filled out application for apartment and they asked us for 200 dollar security down payment based on our credit and we decided not to move in there because my girlfriend is pregnant and really sick and shes going to live with her parents till she has the baby and they said they won't give that back the security deposit but we never signed a lease
The small claims court procedures in Ohio are intended for persons like yourself to be able to appear before the court without a lawyer. For a $200 dispute, you would pay far more to hire an attorney. The Toledo Municipal Court has a website. Here is the link for information regarding the small claims court process: http://www.tmc-clerk.com/civil/smallclaims.asp. When you get to court, you just tell the magistrate what happened and why you think the apartment complex should return your security deposit. Best of luck to you.
