I am a juvenile and I have been arrested twice. The first was around last year for POM and the second was sometime not too long ago for assault. I was put on Deferred adjudication for the first arrest for 6 months and I only got through a couple of months before I was arrested again. I went back to court shortly after and was put on probation for a year and I haven't been drug tested since I received my new probation officer around 4 or 5 months ago and i'm wondering if they are required to give urinalysis tests.
UA tests are randomly administered at the discretion of the probation officer. You may be asked to provide a sample tomorrow, or you may not have to provide a sample at any time during your probation.
The tests are random, and at the discretion of your probation officer. Keep your head down, stay clean and you won't have a problem.
It usually depends on the conditions of your probation. Go back and read the court minutes from the day you were placed on the deferred adjudication. If the court said, "Submit to a drug test or urine test at the discretion of your probation officer" or something with that language, then yes. If not, ask your public defender what you should do if the probation officer tries to test you and there is no such condition allowing him to do so.
