I drove my mom's car and was t-boned by someone with insurance. I thought I was on my mom's insurance but found out that her insurance added me incorrectly as an "excluded driver" despite my mom asking to add me to her policy. My mom's insurance won't cover me for any claims. I know in California I can't get any money for pain and suffering but my concern is the car.
The car was totaled. I'm just looking for compensation so my mom can buy a new car. Can the insurance of the driver that hit me be required to pay me the value of the car?
