I am on probation for DUI which happened in Orange, TX. I have to travel to Orange, TX to my Probation Officer which means I have to keep taking off from work which may eventually cause me to lose my job.
I had my first appointment on Wed. 5, 2017 but could not make it due to know car insurance. Having car insurance is one of the conditions of my probation, and I did not want to take any chances driving without car insurance, if caught that means more trouble.
I contacted my PO twice about this matter and told him I will be getting car insurance this Friday and ask if he could set another date; but he refused.
This was my first appointment meeting and my first missed appointment with no other violations pending.
Will I go to Jail?
Make an appointment to go see your probation officer immediately and then when meeting with your probation officer, remind him you live and work in LA and need to transfer your probation supervision. If you don't do this, your probation will be revoked and a warrant for your arrest will be issued.
I agree with Ellen's answer, but I would add the suggestion to call a Texas attorney as the Texas Department of Criminal Justice would have to initiate the transfer.
