Someone hit me from behind in car his insurance cut me a check but I don’t know if they paid my hospital bills they said once I sign agreement they will send my check which I got 12/24/19
It is possible, but very unlikely, that the other driver's ins. co. paid any of your medical bills in addition to the check they sent to you. SOMETIMES an adverse ins. co. will pay put certain medical bills as part of a liability settlement payment, though, esp. if the hospital or medical provider has asserted some type of assignment, lien, or other interest and given them notice of that. If any of your bills were covered by medical insurance or Medicaid/Medicare, reimbursement of what they paid is also sometimes paid directly to them by the adverse ins. co., in addition to what you may have been paid, as the ins. co. wants to avoid any issues coming back up after they close out their case/file.
