I have a severe social anxiety disorder and speaking in front of a judge for me from past experience has not worked out so well. My disability hearing based on anxiety and other mental health conditions plus a bad arm is probably not going to be easy to win though my inability to function is valid. I hired a large as seen on TV firm to represent me and found out that they have a one star rating. Comments say they don't say a word in court for you, they basically do meet with you five minutes before you see the judge and generally they lose. This is for SSI. I am now really freaking out and wondering if anybody has any advice on what I can do to get a positive outcome. I have been struggling to live and waited four years for this hearing that I only found out the date for in December. Thank you in advance for any answers.
In my opinion you are often far better served by a local SS attorney who knows the local judges and with whom you can meet in person several times before your hearing. Use the Avvo "find a lawyer" tool and perhaps you can find a local SS attorney to take your case on short notice.
