Post judgment interest in California accrues at 10% annually. You would have to domesticate your judgment to CT, which involves registering it and paying a fee to their local court. It essentially becomes a new judgment in CT, at the amount of the judgment, plus costs, plus interest accrued to that point.

Post judgment interest accrues at the rate of 10% per annum in California.
In order to enforce your judgment, you first have to renew it because a judgment is only valid for 10 years (and you are coming up to the eve of its expiration).
Assuming you are able to renew your judgment, you need to find an attorney in Connecticut to "domesticate" your California judgment so that it is enforceable in Connecticut.

A civil judgment rendered in California is enforceable for a period of 10 years. It can be renewed if you file a request with the court before the end of the 10 year period. If you wait until April 11, 2012, your judgment will expire and you will have no legal recourse.
As to enforceability, you say that the judge ordered the defendant to return specific money. If this was a court order that the defendant do something, rather than just an ordinary money judgment, you might be able to have them held in contempt of court. However, I suspect that your judgment was just a money judgment. If so, you must go to Berlin to enforce the California judgment.
